Brittanee Marie Drexel – Missing Teen Brittanee Marie Drexel Had Snuck Away on Trip

This is just incredibly sad to me. You’re young, a kid, and you decide to do one wild and impulsive thing – and it probably cost you your life. 
This, from CNN:
(CNN) — The mother of a 17-year-old Rochester, New York, high school student who vanished over the weekend on spring break in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, says she did not give her daughter permission to go on the trip.
Brittanee Marie Drexel’s mom says she thought she was at the beach in New York, not South Carolina.
In an appearance on HLN’s Nancy Grace, Dawn Drexel said her daughter, Brittanee Marie Drexel, has never run away.
Drexel said the high school junior stayed in touch with her by phone, and she last spoke with Brittanee on Saturday afternoon.
“I asked her what she was doing and she says ‘Oh, mom, I’m at the beach.’ And it was an 80-degree day in Rochester so, of course, I thought maybe she was at the beach in Rochester with one of her girlfriends that she had said she was staying overnight,” Drexel said.
Drexel said she asked Brittanee to call her later and the girl agreed. “I said, ‘I love you, Brittanee’ and she says, ‘I love you, mom.’ And then we hung up the phone.”
Brittanee is believed to have last been seen Saturday evening, though an unconfirmed sighting may have placed her at a restaurant on Sunday.
She was staying with friends at the Bar Harbor Hotel on North Ocean Boulevard, according to police reports.

David Kellerman Suicide – Freddie Mac CFO David Kellerman Commits Suicide

According to the Associated Press, Freddie Mac CFO David Kellerman is dead in an apparent suicide. Damn…I know work pressures can be bad, and his were worse than most. But he had a five year old daughter! Very sad.

NEW YORK (WCBS 880 / AP) — Farifax, VA police tell CBS TV affiliate WUSA in Washington DC the acting head of Freddie Mac, David Kellerman, has committed suicide.
Police responded to the Kellerman home after receiving a call from his wife.
Kellermann was 41-years-old.
Sabrina Ruck, a Fairfax County police spokesman, confirmed to the AP that Kellermann was dead, but she could not confirm that he committed suicide despite WUSA reporting that Fairfax police told them it was a suicide.
Kellermann’s death is the latest blow to Freddie Mac, a government controlled company that owns or guarantees about 13 million home loans. CEO David Moffett resigned last month.
McLean, Va.-based Freddie Mac and sibling company Fannie Mae, which together own or back more than half of the home mortgages in the country, have been hobbled by skyrocketing loan defaults and have received about $60 billion in combined federal aid.
Kellermann was named acting chief financial officer in September 2008, after the resignation of Anthony “Buddy” Piszel, who stepped down after the September 2008 government takeover. The chief financial officer is responsible for the company’s financial controls, financial reporting and oversight of the company’s budget and financial planning.
Before taking that job, Kellerman served as senior vice president, corporate controller and principal accounting officer. He was with Freddie Mac for more than 16 years.
British Singer Marilyn – Gay Affair with Gavin Rossdale Lasted 5 Years Says British Singer Marilyn

Well, it’s an odd love triangle – Marilyn, Gwen Stefani, and Gavin Rossdale. But there you have it. Marilyn has told InTouch Magazine that Rossdale had to deny the affair because of his growing music career, but that Gavin Rossdale is the love of his life.
The affair had been alleged by Boy George in the past, but Rossdale had, indeed, denied it.

Cheating Spouse Signs – How to Catch a Cheating Spouse with These Infidelity Signs

It’s a sad state of affairs, but the truth is, sometimes you need to know if the person who pledged to be faithful to you is actually keeping that promise. Is your spouse cheating on you?
I have recently had some experience with this myself, which is why it’s been on my mind. Without divulging too many of my friend’s personal details, let me just say that recently I have stood by a friend through an extremely emotional and heartrending rollercoaster ride of figuring out if her significant other was cheating or not. (In case you’re curious, it turns out he wasn’t – but he WAS considering it!)
Anyway, she and I looked at a lot of different factors when we were trying to figure out what was going on, and I thought it might help people to narrow those down to an easy to use list of “Infidelity Signs” to look out for.
1) Has their behavior significantly changed?
Did they start out treating you sweetly and now they are snappy and always on edge?
2) Are they secretive and hiding things?
Do you find them making furtive phone calls or quickly hiding things when you come in the room?
3) Are they defensive when you try to discuss it?
Do they show little regard for your feelings and act like they are being attacked in response to the most innocent questions?
4) Have you found strange numbers in their pockets or on their cell bill?
If so, you can try putting them into this form and seeing if they come up with anything!
5) Have their friends made comments that didn’t fit with stories they have told you?
This is a good indication that what they have told you about where they were and what they were doing is a lie. Think about it – their friends have no reason to lie. But they do.
If this list seems familiar to you from your own relationship, then there is a VERY good chance your spouse is running around on you. You have every right, and in fact it would be a good idea, to confront them with what this behavior might mean.
Remember – most people are very hung up with wanting “proof” that a spouse is cheating. But the best barometer is your own instinct. What does your gut tell you when they respond to your questions? Are they telling the truth?

Sandra Cantu Memorial – Tracy California

Today was Sandra Cantu’s memorial, held in the gym of the same high school that her killer graduated from not that many years ago. Tracy’s a small town.
A month ago, when people asked me where I grew up and I replied, “Tracy, CA” I was met with mostly blank stares. No more. Now, thanks to the tragic case of Sandra Cantu and the bizarre arrest of her killer (and her Sunday School teacher) Melissa Huckaby, pretty much everybody knows about Tracy.
It’s a surreal feeling. The house I grew up in and where my parents still live is two blocks from where Sandra and Melissa Huckaby lived. My college boyfriend lived in that Mobile Home park, I was over there all the time. I’ve driven through the exact spot that Sandra was skipping past in that heartrending video a hundred times, albeit not for 15 years. But it looks exactly the same.
Sandra went to Jacobson Elementary, where my second cousin taught first grade for ten years, and where my brother-in-law’s aunt taught kindergarten. My niece and nephew both went to Jacobsen. In fact, my brother-in-law’s aunt actually *was* my nephew’s kindergarten teacher. And did I mention that that aunt’s sister was *my* second grade teacher? That’s what Tracy’s like. That’s why this doesn’t make any sense.
Of course, it’s not like it would make sense anywhere. But it seems to be especially non-sensical in the bucolic little town where I grew up. It seems to be something that would be so much more fitting happening in the cesspool I live in now (no offense, Los Angeles) than sleepy little Tracy.
When Melissa Huckaby was working at Food 4 Less, my brother-in-law and my boyfriend (different brother-in-law AND different boyfriend) were both working there too. I used to stop there at least twice a week for groceries on my way home from work, and was often in her line – chatted with her like she was a normal person! If you asked me then, I wouldn’t have said there was anything different about her than any of my boyfriend’s other co-workers. WOW, was I wrong!
My friend Jd says that I shouldn’t feel weird about not having noticed anything different about her, that you shouldn’t expect to be able to see the good and bad inside people. And in LA, sure, that makes sense. But, in Tracy? It feels like you should.
Scottish Woman Singing – Susan Boyle Impresses Simon and the World!

On Britain’s Got Talent, 47 year old Susan Boyle made giant waves around the world with her rendition of I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables. Demi Moore tweeted that the performance moved her to tears, and it instantly became a YouTube sensation. Simon Cowell supposedly wants to sign Boyle to his record label, and she is now the odds on favorite to win the competition.
Similar things tend to happen when I tweet something. Except not.
